        The City of Janesville aims to promote, enhance, and respect the Rock River - the unifying feature of our community - by accomplishing the following objectives:

        • Promote Rock River Corridor as a regional recreation attraction.
        • Actively pursue property acquisitions that ensure the Rock River remains accessible to the public.
        • Complete long-term shoreline enhancements.

        All of the parks and open spaces in the City of Janesville, including those abutting the Rock River, are identified in green on the following map:

            The westside riverwalk facing the future Town Square in downtown Janesville. The Town Square will consist of amenities such as a pedestrian bridge, a Great Lawn gathering space and a festival street. Contingent upon funding, the City intends to complete the Town Square by 2020.

            Janesville is home to the Rock Aqua Jays water ski show, the most successful water ski show team in the world with 63 total tournament victories including 19 U.S. national championships since 1975. Over 100,000 people attend Rock Aqua Jays water ski shows, special events and tournaments each year, resulting in a biennial economic impact of more than $5 million. The Rock Aqua Jays one of the leading tourist and entertainment attraction in south central Wisconsin.
